Built on the same platform as the Citroen Relay and Fiat Ducato, the Peugeot Boxer is a great choice for businesses needing to carry large loads and make the most of their time on the road.
Last revamped in 2014, the Boxer offers one of the biggest payload capacities on the market, with up to 17 cubic metres in volume available, fitting 1,900kg in weight. A 1.25m sliding side door on all but the shortest model is large enough to get a Euro pallet through, and a low load sill makes getting heavy cargo in and out easy.
There’s also a light in the load bay and eight tie-down points – ten on the two longer wheelbase models – to keep cargo secure on the move, and a full steel bulkhead is standard on all panel vans. The Peugeot Boxer comes in a choice of four wheelbases and three heights, as well as a six-seater crew cab version.
Hop in the cab and you’ll find a smart, modern driving environment finished with quality materials and offering 73 litres of storage space. The driver's seat is height-adjustable to help you find a comfortable driving position, and entertainment is provided via a four-speaker DAB radio with Bluetooth and USB connectivity as standard.
The Peugeot Boxer was given a new range of Euro 6 compliant engines in 2016, and any models produced from then on are powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder BlueHDi diesel unit. This offers three outputs ranging from 109bhp to 161bhp and delivers fuel economy of up to 47mpg - an impressive figure considering the Boxer's size. All versions are front-wheel drive and on the road, the model is surprisingly light to handle, yet feels sturdy and stable through corners and at higher speeds.
Standard safety features include ABS with emergency brake assist, a driver's airbag, rear fog lights, traction control and electronic stability control, which adapts to the load you’re carrying. There’s plenty to secure your used Peugeot Boxer against potential thieves too, with standard equipment including remote central deadlocks, an immobiliser, a lockable fuel cap, and a visible vehicle identification number at the base of the windscreen.
